PARENTAL LEAVE EXCLUSIVE OF THE FATHER

� Concept

Justified absence from work of the public employee father on the occasion of the birth of a child

� Regime

� Period of 10 compulsory working days, followed or interpolated, in the 30 days following the birth of a child, five of which enjoyed in a consecutive way immediately after the birth

� 10 optional working days, followed or interpolate, provided that they are enjoyed simultaneously with the enjoyment of the initial parental leave by the mother

� No caso de nascimentos m�ltiplos, a cada um daqueles per�odos acrescem dois dias por cada g�meo al�m do primeiro

� Formalities

� Inform the public employer, in advance as possible that, in the case of the ten optional days, shall not be lower than 5 days

� Communicate, within the time limit of 5 days the termination of the situation that gives rise to the leave
